About Me

Hi there! I see that you’re interested in learning more about me, or potentially found yourself here by mistake.

Either way, welcome!

Here’s a bit more on me in first person, as I can’t handle third-person introductions:

I’m a freelance writer/editor and travel blogger formerly known as Agnes Jasinski. (I’m putting that in there in case you come across some old clips.)

I left the teaching profession just before the pandemic hit following eight years as a special educator. The madness of education brought me back to my first passion: editing and writing.

Prior to teaching, I worked as a journalist based in Washington, D.C., and then in Chicago, my hometown. My freelance work appeared in The Chicago Tribune and The Washington Independent. I also worked as a staff writer for The Gazette (then a Post-Newsweek Media publication) and as a content editor for sites like Scholarships.com.

Apparently, I had a knack for finding work with publications that would at some point or another go under during my journalism career, through no fault of my own.

Today, I write, edit, and blog, sometimes even in a paid capacity.

I’m also an avid traveler, sharing my tips and exploits on my humor/travel blog, Travel on the Reg.
